This Privacy Policy explains how Bonita Video Photo International (“BVPI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit bvpi.ca or contact us about wedding photography and videography. Bonita Video Photo International is a sole proprietorship based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. By using our website or contacting us, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Who we are

Information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out our inquiry form, we collect your name, email address, wedding or event date, the coverage or location you are interested in, and anything you include in your message. If you go on to book with us, we also collect the information needed to plan and deliver your coverage and to enter into a service agreement, such as your contact details and the details of your event.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we automatically receive standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and the pages you view. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Our website is delivered through Cloudflare, which also processes limited technical data to keep the site fast and secure.
How we use your information
We use your information to respond to your inquiries, prepare quotes, plan and deliver your photography and videography, manage your booking, communicate with you, keep business records, and improve our website. We do not sell your personal information.
Photographs and video of our clients
Wedding photography and film is our craft, and with permission we may feature images and footage from the weddings we shoot in our portfolio, on our website and social media, and in our advertising. We obtain this permission through the agreement you sign when you book. If you would prefer that we not use your images, or you would like something removed, let us know at bvpi@shaw.ca and we will work with you.
Third-party services we use
We rely on a few trusted services to run our website and business. Each has its own privacy practices:
- Web3Forms delivers the messages you send through our contact form to our inbox.
- Google Analytics helps us understand website traffic.
- Google Fonts delivers the fonts used on the site and may receive your IP address.
- YouTube hosts the film embedded on our Films page; if you play it, YouTube may set cookies.
- Cloudflare delivers and helps secure the website.
- Payments. We accept e-transfer, cheque, and cash, and occasionally PayPal. If you pay by PayPal, your payment is handled under PayPal’s own privacy policy.
We share your information with these providers only as needed to run our website and services, not for their own marketing.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. Our analytics, the embedded YouTube film, and Cloudflare may set cookies to help the site work and to measure traffic. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well without them.
How long we keep your information
We keep inquiry and booking information for as long as needed to respond to you, deliver your coverage, and meet reasonable business and legal record-keeping needs, after which we delete or anonymize it.
Your privacy rights
Under Canadian privacy law, you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and you may withdraw your consent to our use of it. To make a request, email bvpi@shaw.ca and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Visitors in the EU and UK
Because we film destination weddings, we sometimes work with couples in the European Union and the United Kingdom. If you are located there, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your information, and the right to data portability. Our legal bases for processing are your consent, the performance of a contract with you, and our legitimate interest in running our business. Please note that your information is processed in Canada. You may also contact your local data protection authority if you have concerns.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no website or method of transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Our website and services are intended for adults planning weddings and events. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Links to other websites
Our site may link to other websites, such as our social media pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
